One of the original founders of BAS, Tom was inspired by his time working at the Venice Biennale at the Gervasuti Foundation. Contemporary art is his jam, but looking back at the greats, his favorites are definitely Caravaggio and Titian. Tom is also an avid outdoorsman, an experienced chef, a rower, and an EMT.

Julian Ehrlich- Co-President
Born and raised In New York City, Julian is interested in how value judgements are made about art, especially in contemporary art. He is especially interested in the metrics by which the critical value of a work of art is determined, whether that is placement in an institution, market performance, public sentiment, the opinion of a critic or a scholar, or something else entirely. Julian is an Art History major and Computer Science minor in the class of 2017
June Lei-Curatorial Director
A native New Yorker, June is inspired by the way art and its institutions impact diverse communities in different ways. She believes that art and aesthetics are fundamental parts of existance, and thus wholeheartedly agrees that art should be a central pillar of any education. This, she intends to prove at Bowdoin. June is an English and Art History double major in the class of 2018.
Arianna Cameron-Social Media Director
Born in London, Arianna grew up in Los Angeles and currently resides in Mallorca, Spain. She has been exposed to an assortment of art of different cultures, and has always been especially influenced by her parent’s interest in art. She is particularly fond of Western Modern art and Contemporary Asian art, and her favorite museums include the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. Arianna is an Art History major and Cinema Studies minor, and hopes to work in public relations for art and design after graduation.
Hailey Beaman-Artistic Director
Raised outside of Los Angeles, Hailey’s interest in art was cultivated at an early age through visits to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Hailey is partial to modern and contemporary art, and enjoys studying early Russian abstraction and feminist performance art. Hailey is an Art History and English double major in the class of 2018.
Ethan Bevington-Technology Director
Hailing from the Midwest, Ethan grew up exploring the collections of the Toledo Museum of Art and the Chicago Institute of Art. Ethan is partial to Modern and Contemporary Art, but still enjoys strolling through the churches of Rome and Florence. He enjoys visiting the Whitney and the MoMA and is excited to be involved in the art community at Bowdoin.
Hugo Hentoff-First Year Representative
Hugo Hentoff is an award-winning photographer who has had solo exhibitions in Delaware and his home town, Washington D.C. Hugo’s favorite artists are Abe Morello, Bill Crandall, and Spencer Finch. In addition to photography, Hugo is also interested in acting, play writing, and teaching.
Emily Stewart- Creative Director
A Co-founder of the BAS, Emily is excited to be at the forefront of the art scene at Bowdoin. She is a New Yorker at heart and loves visiting contemporary galleries and museums of all kinds, especially the Frick Collection, where she worked over the summer. Emily is also interested in interactive art and the play between art and nature. Her favorite art includes works by the Dutch masters and Japanese prints.
Julián Huertas- Vice-President
Julián loves the way art functions as part of design and has particular interests in interior, landscape, and architectural design. His favorite artistic activities are wood-carving and block-printing. At Bowdoin, Julián is president of the film-making society, a guide at the Art Museum, and a member of the Campus Planning and Design Committee.
